Our Name

In Greek mythology, Argus Panoptes, the "all-seeing one", was a giant guardian with a hundred eyes, so vigilant that not all his eyes ever closed at once. When he fell, the goddess Hera honoured his service by placing those hundred eyes in the tail feathers of the peacock: a lasting symbol of watchfulness that endures to this day.

The aegis was the divine shield of Zeus, forged for the king of the gods and carried into battle as the ultimate emblem of protection and authority. Together, these two myths gave us our name, our platform, and the peacock-on-a-shield at the heart of our logo.
